Stephen “Steve” Morris Newton, age 62, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019, at his home in Bloomer, AR after a long battle with leukemia. Steve was born May 30, 1956 in Trona, CA. to Murl and Rose Chastain Newton. Steve graduated from Charleston High School, Charleston, AR in 1974 and attended the University of Arkansas in Ft. Smith, AR. One of 5 kids, Steve earned the nickname Peanut from his older brother. It caught on quickly with family and friends. He never let his health challenges slow him down. He continued to work in the Poultry Industry and touring business and still found the time and energy to canoe, fish and grow a garden. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Rose Newton, sister Donna Newton and wife Sherry Newton. Survivors include his son Cory Newton of Philadelphia PA; father Murl Newton of Bloomer AR; a brother, Rick Newton of Ft. Smith AR; two sisters, Brenda Niemeyer & husband Terry of Springdale AR and Paula Binford & husband John of Venus TX; stepson Dustin Dunston of Bloomer AR; stepdaughter Brandi Bruno of Dallas TX; step grandchildren Kristopher Sullivan of Jonesboro AR, Lauren Sullivan of Fontana CA and Frankie Bruno of Dallas TX; 1 step great-grandson Antonio Torres of Fontana CA; 1 niece and 3 nephews; 6 great nieces and nephews; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Nephew Bro. John David Binford of Santo TX, will officiate a short graveside service on Friday, April 19 at 2pm at the Morris Cemetery in Bloomer. Visitation will be at Steve's dad's house in Bloomer from 12-1:45 before the graveside service. Family and friends are also invited to visit with the family after the graveside service.
