Juanita Pauline Kendrick , age 92, of Springdale, Arkansas died Thursday, February 18th, 2021. Pauline was born January 27, 1929 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Delbert and Laura Mae Hand. Pauline was preceded in death by her two husbands, Bobby Wade Kendrick and Joe Harold Gammel; siblings, Delbert, Beulah, Irma and Willard. Pauline is survived by her children, Paula Traut, Doris Kendrick and husband David , Larry Gammel and wife Kira; a sister Hazel Wright, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Cassia Van Buren. Pauline grew up on a farm in Coweta, Oklahoma. Her dad raised cotton, watermelon and cows. Her mom kept a garden and raised chickens, buying 100 chicks every spring. With more girls in the family than boys, she got to spend time with her dad working out in the fields and hunting small game. On the Fourth of July each kid would get a penny and they would spend it to buy a soda pop. She was saved as a teen and baptized with a group the following spring in a creek. She remained active in Baptist churches and taught Sunday school and played the piano. She sang at a local radio station with some other young people and met and married the father of her three children. In later years, she played hymns at senior centers. She was trained as a nurse and worked in both hospital and clinic settings. She loved labor and delivery, but was happy to pitch in wherever needed. She retired to remarry and move to Springdale, Arkansas. All of her life she continued to love being outdoors—walking, fishing, riding her John Deere lawn tractor and keeping her garden immaculate. Much of her garden produce was shared with family and friends. She loved much and was much loved.
