Jocelyn Shadel Christensen, Loving daughter, sister and mother of one son, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in Tulsa, OK.

She was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado on a beautiful spring evening, May 1992, to Darren and Charlotte (Eaton) Christensen; her older sister, Josette, was four. Jocelyn was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosemary Christensen, in 2003, and her grandfather, Robert Eaton, in 2020. She is survived by her parents, her sister, Josette, her baby son, Jaxen, and fiancé', Cody Pharris, her two nieces, Karley and Ryelyn, grandfather, Don, and step-grandmother Arlene Christensen, and grandmother, Ruby Eaton; also her two uncles, David & Dana, three aunts, Rhonda, Velda and Kerry, and 10 cousins.

Jocelyn spent the first 11 years of her life in Evans, Colorado, and then her family moved to Gentry, Arkansas in 2004. Her high school years were spent at Oklahoma Academy in Harrah, OK, graduated 2010. Then she attended college for two years, majoring in Graphic Design and Photography. From a young age, she worked in the family pool business in Siloam Springs, AR, and was office manager for the past two years.

Jocelyn was creative, patient, and compassionate to everyone she knew. She loved the large garden she and her fiancé were growing, and she was looking forward to living off-the-grid with Cody and Jaxen. She enjoyed motherhood, was faithful to God and loved by everyone. Words can’t describe the joy she brought to all of us with her wit and ready laugh. We miss her so much. As Jocelyn is laid to rest, it is very hard to let go, yet we look forward to when Jesus comes to take us home to be reunited forever with her, and all those loved ones we have lost.

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Cor. 15:52-53

Though it doesn’t take away the ache in our hearts now, God has given us a blessed hope.

The Memorial Service for Jocelyn will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 4:00 pm, in the Gentry Seventh Day Adventist Church: 21090 Dawn Hill East, Gentry AR 72734.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to help rebuild Jocelyn’s fiancé, Cody, and son, Jaxen’s home, destroyed 8/15/2020. I/C: Lighthouse Spas & Pools, 2135 Hwy 412 East, Siloam Springs, AR 72761. For information, call 479-238-8827
