On Saturday, July 4, 2020, Frank G. Popowich, Sr., loving father, grandfather,
brother and friend to many, passed away at age 69.
Frank was born on December 5, 1950 in Sewickley, PA to Peter and Alice
(Rhines) Popowich. He started out supporting his family by driving for Pepsi
Cola, which led to his lifelong obsession with drinking Pepsi and only Pepsi. He
retired from Waste Management after too many years of picking up other
people’s garbage and moved to Arkansas to be with his daughter, Robin,
and family. Frank was an avid reader of Jackie Collins novels and had a
passion for trying his luck on the slot machines. He knew his luck ended with
five children, two step-daughters, 19 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren, but he kept trying anyway. He was known for his wonderful
sense of humor, quick wit, infectious smile, gorgeous thick hair, and his kind
and compassionate spirit to those he thought deserved it.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brother Cramer (Joan) Bryant,
grandson Joseph Gebhardt, and great-granddaughter Brinley Popowich.
He is survived by his five children, Tammy (Timothy) Tharp, Alice (Kevin)
Langer, Robin (Bryan) Foshee, Frank (Robyn) Popowich Jr. and BJ (Kerri)
Popowich, his brothers Peter (Joyce) Popowich and Twain (Elaine) Popowich,
his sisters Gwen (Walter) Fortuna and Linda (Jim) Walker, his loving ex-wife
Lynn Harvey who remained a lifelong friend, his step-daughters, his many
grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Even though he would grumble about any fuss over him, a memorial service
will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 at the firehall in his hometown of
Fair Oaks at 6 o’clock p.m. Please join us to celebrate the life of our beloved
Frank. He will be greatly missed
