David Ruben Arivett, 66, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away, Saturday, March 23, 2019, surrounded by close family and friends.

David was extremely gifted in music, first performing publicly at age 4. He expanded his talent to include multiple instruments, learning the piano by ear at age 13. He cultivated his love for singing and music through leading roles in High School Musicals and Acapella Choir/Madrigals, as well as, arranging and performing with concert and tour choirs in Music and Seminary College. His career as a church music director and instructor spanned over 35 years. Throughout his life, David never ceased in his thirst for spiritual knowledge and musical growth, inspiring him to compose, arrange and/or perform on recordings of over 1200 songs, spanning multiple albums, radio and television. This music spanned a wide array of styles including; Worship, Big Band, Jazz, Latin & Brazilian Jazz, Classical, Choral, & Inspirational. David believed music is not just sound vibrations or notes on paper, but that when played or listened to, it can lift us out of ourselves to enjoy the very language of the heavens. This belief inspired him to found a 20 year inspirational website and numerous social media groups (10,000 members strong) to further the importance of sharing music with colleagues and preserving it for future generations. He believed we should celebrate each day as a gift and he lived that through his music and life, which touched and inspired many throughout the US and abroad.

David will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend of near 47 years, Michelle Arivett; their children and spouses Danette & Robert Joslin, Aaron & Gina Arivett, Paul & Stephanie Arivett, Jesse & Samantha Arivett. He will also be remembered by his adoring 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brother Gerald Arivett and sister Connie Broome; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

We are forever grateful for his love, indelible spirit, passion, sense of humor and musical genius that we will endeavor to continue through the lives we lead moving forward.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Thursday, April 25th at 1:30pm, Mt. Sequoia ‘Bailey Center’ - 150 N Skyline Dr., Fayetteville, AR 72701
