Obituary

Obituary for Alice Jane Murdock

Alice J. Murdock, of Rogers, AR., peacefully passed away May 24th 2019. Born Nov. 29 1928 in Ironton, Ohio to Calvin and Louise Lambert. They ran a shoe store in Ironton for many years. She loved her family, her cats, and was a blessing to us all. Alice owned an antique store in San Francisco for many years and has fond memories of that adventure on Fillmore Street. She is survived by her 3 children, Pollie Howland of New Bern NC, Bill Murdock of Pea Ridge AR, Meggan Murdock of Reno NV, and Timothy Murdock of Reno NV.
I knew the time was near when, on one of my Sunday visits with her at Innisfree, she told me she had been gone for 2 days "walking in the sky", and wanted to do that again because there was great peace. I told her to embrace that gift and maybe it will come to pass, God willing and God speed Mom.
A simple remembrance this Saturday at 10:00 A.M. will be held at St. Andrews Church, 840 W Oak, Rogers, AR.. Alice is to be placed in columbarium at St. Andrews Church, as was her wishes. She wanted to be close to her church family forever.

I will so miss Alice. She had the best stories, the biggest laugh, and the most generous heart. Sunday mornings will be sadder without her; but I will take comfort in knowing that she is bringing such joy and laughter to God and all the angels. -- Lesley K

John Webster

Alice one told me she didn't care much for Garrison Keillor's stuff but I think she was referring to his radio Prairie Home stuff, and I share her views on that. But I think she might like some of his written observations, such as: " [O]nward we go and some day in the distant future, we will stop and turn around in astonishment to see all the places we've been and the heroes we were."
